From the Church- The Choir, the Chorister

I have always loved being a Chorister and being a member of the Church Choir. Right from my childhood, the choir has always been my first love and will continue to be.

Over the years however, having seen and heard many different Church Choirs, having been part of several choirs and having led a couple of choirs and still hoping to lead more; my love for the Choir has gotten finetuned, edited, broadened, focused, refocused....well, hope u get my meaning. More after the cut......

Now i dont just love the Church Choir or being a Chorister, i hunger for excellent Church Choirs and Choristers. Now i also have an increasingly growing disgust for nonperforming, underperforming and underachieving Choirs; Choirs lacking proper understanding of wat dia business should be; Choirs that will get up to sing and - stain music, stain Choral majesty & beauty, abuse sound preparation and organisation, defacing the ministry of music on which they stand.

Now i also have increasingly growing disgust for Choir leaders who fail to be the leader they ought to be, who fail to lead the choir to that place of all round excellence, who disallow the choir from towing the path of all round excellence, who refuse to recognise the Chorister, who refuse to tend the chorister to excellence.

And likewise, i have now, a strong disgust for Choristers who refuse to pursue excellence and refuse to see the Choir as a garden they must always make beautiful.

Hence this posts, to suggest from my knowledge base, ways the Church Choir and Choristers can do more by way of excellence.
